Person Centred Counselling

This is an approach to counselling developed by Carl Rogers in the 1950s. He believed that everyone is capable of fulfilling their potential to be the best person they can be. However, the ability to do this can be impeded by low self esteem and self care and/ or difficult upbringing/ experiences.

By providing a safe space, confidentiality (with safe guarding exceptions), empathy, honesty and without judgement the counsellor provides the resources for the client to develop their sense of self; this can be transformative.
